Your gifts multiplied!

Greetings! It’s that time of year.

Everyone you know in the non-profit world is sending you a letter asking you to make a year-end gift, while sharing amazing stories of what they’ve accomplished! Honestly, though, it’s hard for me to sit down and write a letter like this. Not because we haven’t been successful or don’t have great stories, but because we have spent the past 3-6 months preparing our 49 ministry partners to make their own 2017 year-end giving season the best one yet. And now we’re tired and ready to stop talking about it! We have designed, proofed, and printed so many letters, pledge cards, sponsorship forms, Christmas cards, prayer cards, return envelopes and labels you’d think we have a staff of 30 people! There are just seven of us though, working to get it all complete.

Recently though, I was encouraged by a supporter who said that he’s really tired of non-profits and their fundraising campaigns. He feels like it’s gotten to the point that you can’t trust the ministries you support because their letters don’t feel authentic; they just spin a sad story (or a miraculous one!) to manipulate you to give.
Hmmm…this doesn’t sound that encouraging yet does it? Bear with me!
This supporter went on to say that this is why he loves Perception Funding. He loves that we aren’t just teaching people how to raise money, we are teaching people how to bring others alongside them in their mission, inviting them be a part of what God is doing together. I love that this supporter has caught our vision and sees its importance: Truly, fundraising isn’t really even what we do, It’s a result of what we do.

Perception Funding finds amazing ministries who have a great vision and a heart for God’s people, then we help them cast their vision further; we teach them how to share it in a truly relational way with friends, family, and the community in which they serve. Then those people get involved in the mission, and when people get involved and care about something, giving financially is their next natural step. People genuinely want to be a part of something bigger than themselves; they want to give, and they want to give to something that they believe in.

So thank you for coming alongside us and being a part of what God is doing through Perception Funding. And just for the record, because of your gifts, here is what we have accomplished in 2017:
• For every $1 given to Perception Funding, we raised $12.15 for our Ministry Partners
• 56 ministries and projects use our online giving platform www.givetransform.org
• 17 ministries in 14 countries are fully funded through our sending initiative, Go.Serve
• Over $962,000 has been raised this year for our Ministry Partners
