This past month we had a fun and unique opportunity to help Littleton, Colorado Young Life raise funds to send kids to camp. They had 20 people run in a half marathon and 6 ride in a bike race. So in order to help them we built an online giving page where friends and family could click on a runner or rider’s picture and give in support. The half marathon raised over $4,400 and the bike race raised $1,725. It’s amazing to see this many people excited about kids going to Young Life camp and to know that they will have the opportunity to hear the gospel because of runners, bikers and online giving…kind of crazy!
From our Ministry Partner: Fishing for France
We have just accepted the Tendon Family as part of our Sending Initiative in May of this year. They are missionaries from Switzerland serving in France and they have now been in France for a month. Below is an update on moving across the world and beginning ministry. “The Lord is good as we are back, the seven of us, plus the dog and the cat, in Europe. We are so excited to be Fishing For France, a miraculous fishing for the Kingdom of God. After being trained during two years in Kansas City in music ministry, worship, intercession and youth ministry, we are ready to dive into the mission field and we are expecting the Lord to show up in awesome ways. That's what he has done... The Lord has opened up the doors for our family for a huge house with 8 bedrooms and half an acre of land, which is a lot for Europe. We have never worked for money so little and never have we had such a big house. The Lord is providing in great ways. Not only does our family live in this house but it is so big that we are going to host 3 youngsters and coach them alongside with our children. The Lord is raising a generation of set-apart young adults in the spirit of Daniel and his companions. Europe lacks God's presence so we have set our mind on establishing an altar of worship twice a day, for two hours each time, in praise, prayer and meditating the Word of God. As we started doing this in the local church we had up to 15 youngsters gather with us and join in worship to the Lord. God is good! The youth in France are eager to see God and to experience Him. They lack leaders who will funnel their energy and passion into the things of God. That's what we are doing.” The Tendon Family Fishing For France – fishingforfrance.wordpress.com
Potential to hire additional staff
We are in the discussion and prayer process of bringing on another full-time staff person. It’s been encouraging seeing how God has shaped peoples lives to serve. We are hoping and praying for the funds needed and God’s guidance.
