FUNDRAISING... Each year October is our busiest month of the year and last month was know different. With seven different fundraisers and events we raised over $60,000 in October, plus monthly pledges that will come in over the course of the next year. As always, 100% of the funds raised went to the work and mission of our ministry partners. It is such a blessing to be apart of seeing God’s hand at work in so many amazing organizations and ministries.
THE LISTEN PROJECT... Volunteer with us at Hope Faith Ministry on Friday, November 25 as we serve 800 meals from 8am - 11am. You can let us know if you want to attend by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
DISASTER RESPONSE... Joplin Tornado – Family Adoption As you know, we have partnered with a local church Vox Dei Community to come alongside Brad and Melissa Campbell as they rebuild their lives in Joplin after the Tornado. In fact, they take possession of their new home as of last Friday! They sent a message earlier this week:
From the Campbells: "We are so excited! We now have a home! We take possession & get our keys on Friday. It's a 4 year old home. 3 bedroom 2 bath 2 car garage. Kids loved it. We never thought we could be so excited over getting a home, but we are! The Campbells"
On Saturday, November 5 and Saturday, November 12 we will be taking items down to help furnish their new home. We would love to get some of the larger items down to them this weekend so they can start sleeping in their own beds! Many of you have already indicated you have large items to donate, but we are still looking for a few things: -1 king size bed - -2 matching night stands - -1 night stand boys room - -1 gas grill - -1 gas trimmer- If you have any of these items to donate, please contact us at email@example.com
In addition to these large items, for the next two weeks, we will be collecting smaller household goods. The Campbells have registered on the Target "Wedding" registry (Melissa R Campbell and Steven B Campbell, wedding date 1/1/2012) for items they need for their new house. Next time you're out, take a minute to get something off the list, we will be collecting items through November 10.
