A spring of young life
This time every year at Perception Funding we organize a huge flower sale for our ministry partners that have summer trips and camps. This year we had five Young Life areas participate from around Kansas City. The flower sale sold over $11,600 in flowers. This means that high school kids earned over $6,000 towards their Young Life summer camp trip.
Then our April ended with two Young Life golf events. The Belton Young Life Golf Tournament almost got rained out for the second year in a row, but the Lord showed us grace and kept things dry. The Olathe Putting Competition & Raffle got moved in doors do to the same bad weather and it ended up being a blessing. We had 75 people come out in support even though we changed venue just a few hours prior. Both golf events were a success with great prizes, people having a blast and money being raised directly for their ministries! The Lord has a special place in my heart for Young Life since He used it to bring be close to him. It’s amazing to know God is still working in this ministry and will continue to win kids hearts like mine!

FUNDRAISING...
Earlier this year we launched an adoption ministry with the purpose to help families in the adoption process raise the funds needed to pay for their adoption. In the month of March we worked with two families the Weddles and the Garbers. Through this process we learned how stressful adoption is and how messed up our legal system is. But on a positive side we got to work with two amazing Christian couples and see their friends and families step up in support of their passion to adopt a child. In all we raised nearly $12,000 towards these two adoptions in the month of March.
We still have a busy spring ahead of us. So, join us in prayer or let us know if you want to volunteer for any of the events listed below.

The Listen Project... In an effort to be more involved in the community directly around us we will be helping Mike, a disabled veteran who lives a few blocks from our office, here in Belton, Mo. Mike lived in a storage unit for the past six months, in order to save up enough money to purchase a home from an old army buddy. The house he moved into on April 1 was abandoned for two years and needs work. It has no electricity, needs a new front porch, fridge and stove/oven. Also, Mike is in need of tools and food.
We will have a big workday on Saturday, April 21 to help Mike make this house his home.

FUNDRAISING...
In the past four months we have uncovered a way we can have a big impact in the world of missions. This niche is made up of American missionaries living and serving in other countries who have been losing 10 – 40% of the money they have raised due to the taxes of the country they’re in and their own organization charging large fees. Perception Funding doesn’t charge a percentage for the donations we accept for each of our ministry partners, and so we now can transfer a budgeted amount directly to each partner’s bank account each month, saving them from paying extra taxes. Just since November of 2011 we have gone from six to eleven ministries and projects that we are helping this way, and the most amazing part is that 100% of funds are getting to the mission field.
