Christ for the city international :: sears family

In October of 2008, Perception Funding helped raise over $21,000 for the Sears family, missionaries for Christ for the City. Then in November of 2009, Perception Funding went to Costa Rica to make a video documentary to be sent to the supporters of the Sears family.

Watch this video, showing the Sears’ life and ministry. Made during Perception Funding’s visit in November 2009.

Our partnership with the Sears and Christ for the City has continue to grow. In the fall of 2010 Seth Sear returned to Kansas City to fundraise. We helped him organize and run multiple dinner parties and a benefit concert. Then in December of 2010 we handled their year-end giving campaign raising them over $9,000. In March of 2011 we returned to Costa Rica with a team of six to work side by side with Christ for the City.

Christ for the City International has been impacting lives in La Carpio (which is in San Jose, Costa Rica) for over 40 years. La Carpio is a slum of 45,000 people, the average family of five makes less than $1.50 a day. CFCI currently has a medical clinic which is known as the local hospital and a school. The school teaches basic education, plus life skills (wood shop, welding, cooking, jewerly making, & computer classes) with the hope that kids will learn a trade and be able to support their own family some day. The primary purpose of CFCI is to address the peoples needs and build relationships in order to share the gospel with them.
